I hope He’s listening to me.
I’ve done plenty of good deeds.
Isn’t that enough to get Him to notice me?
A response would set me free,
Help guide me through the pain I bleed.
Lately, I’ve been praying less for me and more for the world I see,
But nothing seems to be happening.
Tragedies almost make me happy,
“Finally, a call to action!”
No, just the disappointing sound of retraction.
We’ll find the last straw after we’re all mauled.
Our problems will never be solved until He hears us all.
Society has stumbled back to page one,
Forcing us to relearn the point in the beginning:
To move as a union,
Treat each other as humans.
Has praying become useless?
What if we cannot rewrite the conclusion?
Would that make religion an illusion?
Where are the powers that protect us, our rights?
Will there ever be a savior for our Queens, Kings, and Knights?
