Late Night Poem

By

12:41AM

I am dreaming of a world — just me and him

Black, but not grim

Open, although there’s only room for me and him

I love the way he looks at me from the side

Wide, but still trying to hide

Making sure I never leave his side

Far enough that I am able to pry

But, so close I can hear his cries

I never brag or boast, but I love being his wife

Nurturing his wounds while he kisses mine

He takes me to the moon; I have never been wined and dined

The extraordinary truth is that he keeps me alive

While preventing my mind from going into overdrive

Trouble is never on the loose

Love is our number one rule

A life without him…is a life I refuse!

Don’t mind me

I am prepping for when the time is introduced
